  Bionic takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We collect and process your

  data exclusively within the framework of applicable data protection laws, in particular the

  Data Collection and Processing

 

  The "Bionic" app processes data exclusively to provide you with the offered functions. Your

  GPX route files and terrain visualization data are processed locally on your device and

  through Swiss topographical services (Swisstopo) or other Mapping Services like Apple Maps, Open Street Map etc. for terrain rendering.

 

  Purpose of Data Processing

 

  Data processing is carried out to:

  • Import and parse GPX route files

  • Generate 3D terrain visualizations

  • Display route elevation profiles and statistics

  • Provide immersive cycling route experiences

  • Enable route comparison and analysis features

 

  Data Sharing

 

  Your route data is only transmitted to Swisstopo APIs for terrain and satellite imagery

  retrieval. No further sharing with third parties takes place.

 

  Data Storage

 

  Bionic does not permanently store data on external servers. All data is processed temporarily

  and stored locally on your device. Route data and terrain cache are maintained locally for

  performance optimization. GPX files remain on your device unless you actively delete them.

 

  We do not back up your data anywhere. If the app fails to function for any reason or data loss

   occurs – for example, due to technical problems, crashes, or other unforeseeable events – we

  assume no liability for the loss of your data. We recommend that you regularly export

  important routes to secure them elsewhere.

 

  Telemetry Data and App Improvement

 

  To continuously improve the "Bionic" app and associated services, we collect anonymous

  telemetry data. This includes information such as usage behavior (e.g., which features are

  used and how frequently), technical data (e.g., app version, device type, operating system),

  and crash reports.

 

  The telemetry data contains no personal data or content from your routes, waypoints, or

  performance metrics. It is evaluated exclusively to improve the stability, user-friendliness,

  and performance of the app.

 

  The collection and evaluation of telemetry data is carried out in accordance with Apple's

  privacy policies and standards. The data is anonymized and used exclusively to improve app

  performance.

 

  If you wish to object to the collection of telemetry data, you can do so at any time by

  deleting the app.

 

  Security

 

  We use state-of-the-art technologies to protect your data during processing. Communication

  between the app and the Swisstopo APIs takes place via encrypted connections.

 

  Your Rights

 

  Since the "Bionic" app does not store or process data on external servers and all data remains

   locally on your device (except during temporary processing by the Swisstopo APIs), we have no

   access to your data.

 

  This means that:

  Information, Deletion, or Correction: You can view, edit, or delete the data directly in the

  app. Editing or deletion by us is not possible as we have no access to the data.

  Objection to Data Processing: You can stop using the app at any time. Since no data is stored

  on our systems, no additional objection is necessary.
